Process:

To be honest, the inspiration part is ok, because I got inspiration in a quick time. The hardest part is how to draw the story on paper. Then I thought of birds. In china, a couple of birds has the symbol of "happiness couple". So I decided to use birds as a metaphor for lovers. And another difficult part is to connect those paper. At first, the rope to connect them are too short, so that there is no place between two paper, which lead to these paper couldn't stand up. This part should be test before, I think I learn the lesson from it.

Reflection:

For this project, I think the visual effect is too small. Maybe because the material I use is drawing paper, and I wonder if it would be different if I replaced the drawing paper with bamboo board. But I like the burnt paper and the rope connections. These strings hold the paper together, which has a very retro feel.

In this work, I hope its audience is those couples or friends who are experiencing foreign countries. I was inspired by this work, which tells the story that people who are separated will eventually be reunited. I am a part of the exotic love now. Before I came to London, I had a big fight with my boyfriend and we separated because of foreign country. But the lucky thing is we got back together. And it made me realize that exotic love is rare thing because it's not what I thought it would be. Before I went board, I imagined that love in a foreign country should be two people busy with their own things every day. After a long time, they would gradually have no common topic. The real exotic relationship is when two people are working on it, making every effort to spend time with each other every day. This kind of relationship of trying for each other is very happy. Some couples or friends always quarrel because of they after going board, they begin to distrust and have no confidence in their relationships. i hope these people will not give up their original belief and everything they have paid for. Because people will come together after suffering.
